INTRODUCTION The objective of this lab is to study the behavior of metals under the impact and to determine the information of temperature on the impact resistance of metal. The test of this experiment is ASTM E-8. The expected results for this experiment should be as the increasing in the transition temperature the impact energy of the BCC structure material will be larger. PROCEDURE Impact tests are frequently used to obtain such an index. Two common impact tests are the Charpy test and the Izod test. These tests differ only in the type of specimen tested. In both, the specimen is a small beam of the material. The beam has a sharp V notch machined into one side and is loaded by the impact of a swinging pendulum. The loading is arranged so as to cause bending of the beam, and the specimen is positioned so that tensile stress will be developed across the notch. In this experiment, we are using the Izod test method. There are two types of sample, which are steel and aluminum. And
