Physics 263 Mohand Shalaby Experiment – 7 Reflection of Light from a Dielectric: Fresnel Equations 1. Introduction: In this experiment we are going to look at the intensity of light that is reflected from the surface of a Plexiglas block as function of the angle of incidence. Since we are dealing with light, we need to take into account both the electric and magnetic fields associated with it. These fields are always perpendicular to the plane of reflection and they are called Transverse Electric (TE) and Transverse Magnetic (TM).
