Unformatted text preview: Eduardo Barajas: College writing R1A; 12/3/08 F rom the Valley to the Bay Coming into a school like Berkeley poses many difficulties that I did not have to face at my high school but thankfully with the difficulties, comes help. In high school, English was never my best subject and when I did try to excel in English, the only comments I would get were syntax and word choice. I was always told that I did something wrong, but I was never properly told what I was doing incorrectly. Coming into this school, I believed that this class was going to be the most difficult and the biggest pain in the ass that I would ever encounter. On the contrary to my previous belief, this class has helped me develop more as a writer in 3 months than all me previous English classes before put together. I t is not the quality of work expected that inspired me to do well in this class, but the attention to my mistakes and the help provided to change those mistakes is what had pushed me into doing better and become an improved writer that will do better in all his upcoming paper....
