1. Preoccupation with drinking a. The couple got married and late that night they went to the girl’s father’s house to introduce the new husband to her father. They were found kissing in the green house and the girl admitted that they had gotten married two hours earlier. She suggested to go find a place to have a couple of drinks. - This is a sign that she started to look for excuses to drink. b. Joe worked in a PR firm and often has occasions to go out drinking. When they were first married, he used work as excuses to go out and drink. Also, when he was sent to a job site and his new coworker mentioned BBQ and drinks, he seemed to looked forward to it. 2. Regretted behavior a. Joe got drunk and came home late. He got himself into a fight with his wife and he went crazy. Then he saw their baby and realized he was wrong. He asked himself: “what’s the matter with me?? I’m sorry…” Feeling guilty about what had been done after he got drunk, is definitely a sign that he regretted his behavior. 3.
