BSBMGT616 Assessment Task 1 – Organisational Review There are two main objectives of this assessment task, which are as follows: 1. To revise the vision and mission statements of MacVille’s to reflect the current status and direction of the organisation. 2. To email the relevant stakeholders outlining the changes to the vision and organisational values, and describing the strategic planning process along with identifying where input can be provided. 1. After reviewing the case study and meeting with a key stakeholder of MacVille, the following has been established: Current Mission: MacVille is to become a national brand and is to be accepted as an integral part of the hospitality industry within the next five years. On top of that MacVille is to be perceived as a key component in the success of both large and small hospitality establishments. Current Vision: MacVille is to ensure that it provides espresso coffee machines that meet the efficiency, reliability and sustainability needs of its clients in the hospitality business. This in return will ensure that the said clients reward MacVille with profits that allow both the stakeholders and the communities in which MacVille operates to prosper. Current Value Statement: MacVille’s values have always been the same since the formation of the organisation. For its stakeholders it is about stewardship and adhering to the professional and moral standards of the organisation in every aspect. For its people or employees, it is about being committed to encouraging self-directed teams, cultivate leadership and maintain high levels of safety. Externally, MacVille’s practises wise environmental policies and offers meaningful values to its customers. Current Aim/Goal: The current organisational understanding and enactment of the mission and vision statements is that within the next five years MacVille’s will become a national brand, and will be accepted as an integral part of the 1
BSBMGT616 hospitality industry. MacVille’s mission is to provide espresso coffee machines that meet efficiency, reliability and sustainability needs of their hospitality clients. Based on the current aspirations of the company that are mentioned above, the following revisions should be made to the existing mission, vision and value statements: Revised Mission: To incorporate innovation as it has become an important part of MacVille’s operations on a daily basis.To evaluate and continually challenge the methods and always strive to simplify and improve MacVille’s business. Revised Vision: To prioritise and find new ways to improve the efficiency of processes and effectiveness of customer solutions. To constantly try new ideas and concepts to raise MacVille’s standards. To seek out new partnerships that support and promote MacVille’s mission, desired outcomes and strategies. Revised Value Statements: To identify more closely with the community MacVille’s serves. To be a good corporate citizen who recognises its responsibilities, to be an active participant in the local communities. To donate a
