BLACKS/AFRICAN AMERICANS My name is Andrea and I’m a member of the Blacks/African American group. I’m going to be talking about what our ethnic group had to deal with and go through, though out our lives. The Blacks/African Americans originated from Africa and we came to the United States. Blacks/African Americans came to the United States to act as slaves. Blacks/African Americans Came to the United States in 1916 and lived in Jamestown, Virginia. It states that back in the 20 th Century a mass migration of African Americans to northern cities occurred, but our ethnic group still had employment opportunities and could still access housing, education, and the social services still remained limited, but the racism was still also common. What us Black/African Americans had to live with at first when we came to the USA is we had to be slaves and do what we was told to do such as pick cotton. The black/African Americans had to deal with the KLU KLUX KLAN (KKK) until it was protested and silenced. After the KKK was
