This project seeks to define clearly the flow of information across the supply chain for the NASA Constellation Program using the latest industrial standards. Detailed Description of Proposed Project This project will seek to apply the supply chain management (SCM) disciplines that currently serve high volume market demands to the low volume, schedule driven Constellation Program. Ultimately, this means applying these SCM principles to the information sharing aspect of Constellation. In the new millennium, demand-driven "pull" models have replaced manufacturing "push" models. Given the complexity of Constellation with its plans for permanent bases on the moon and Mars, the program needs to take full advantage of the latest SCM technologies to track every need related to maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO). The figure below contrasts the present and future state of Constellation SCM. EIN 6905 Master's Project
