Steven Rampmeyer CIS-256-101 Chapter 3 review questions 1) Projects can be undertaken for any number of reasons. (The book states that the focus of this chapter is not the how or the why companies undertake projects yet they ask how and why). I am sure that the most common reasons for undertaking a project that would fall into the scope of this course would be to take advantage of business and/or technological opportunities or to solve a problem with the operation of the business. There are more reasons such as to spend resources, pad budgets, or to keep people busy to name a few. 2) I think the skills a project manager has and/or should have can be summarized as; being able to interpret and communicate the requirements of the project outline and the end users, solve problem within the technical aspects of the project as well as with the team undertaking the project, i.e. interpretation and communication are the main talents of the project manager. I know the book lists many more but in my opinion most if not all fall
