Sociology 2-7 Chapter 3 Symbols and Language: Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis -how we communicate with each other-symbols -something which means something else->language is the most critical part of our communication. Without language we cant convey any abstract ideas ex> -language is not a simple container of our thoughts-> Sapir-Whorf-language is not a simple container of our thoughts it makes our life different, using particular words, particular structure, our behavior depends on the language we speak.
