The problems are not difficult but could well require some assistance in getting matlab/Simulink operating and in understanding the language. Part of our aim is to get you familiar with these programs quickly through analyzing working models.] Question 1 Download the Simulink model cruise ctrl.mdl here or from the textbook web site: http://www.cds.caltech.edu/˜murray/books/AM05/matlab/cruise_ctrl.mdl You might need to be careful to ensure that the model filename extension remains .mdl so that matlab recognizes this as a Simulink model file. Open the file from within matlab by cd ing to the correct directory and double clicking the filename from the Current Folder window pane. This will launch Simulink, the system simulator. By clicking on the individual blocks in this Simulink model, identify the relationship between the blocks in the Simulink model and the nonlinear car simulation with PI-control described in the text
