I found an article on ABC news by Lauren Cox (ABC news medical unit). The title is Born Without Eyes and Ultrasound Couldn’t See . I found the article to be sad and it also can relate to my essay topic I picked on teenage pregnancies. A 15-year-old gave birth to a baby girl in October 2009. The family is from Wellington, Fla. This baby Brielle was born with a rare medical condition called anophthalmia. What this means is a baby was born without eye tissue at all and leaves the baby irrevocably blind. This condition is not something that is inherited. It may be a genetic mutation or just something that is an unexplained occurrence that happens in the first few weeks of pregnancy. Not only does this teenage mother have to deal with how hard it is to have a baby so young. This teen mother has to handle a medical condition her bay has. The baby, Brielle has to under many surgeries. If anyone wants to see this for his or herself will have the link below. I was very emotional when I saw and read this article. abcnews.go.com/Health/EyeHealth/ultrasounds-miss-
