Wai Lee Essay # 1 April 9, 2010 My experiences of learning English Everyone knows English is one of the most important languages in the world. Many people believe learning English can help them to improve their life. In the United States, the numbers of immigrants are increasing every year, but most immigrants are using their native languages. Some of the immigrants can speak or write a base form in English, but it doesn’t mean they can live in the United States without trouble. Some problems may happen with the general conversation or can’t understand the government letter meaning. Also, some of the immigrants had never learned English before they came here. So the government plans to help these people who need to learn English. They need to learn it in order to become citizens in the United States. I’m a person who came from Hong Kong, China. My family sent me to New York for the higher education. I didn’t speak or write English very well before I came to New York. I’m learning English now
