Test3 covers Section10.6, 10.8, 10.9, 11.1, 11.2, 11.3 and Vector Space (supplementary notes) with a little emphasis on 10.9, 11.2 and 11.3. Here is the highlight of each section. Section10.6 Sketch the graph of cylinders and quadric surfaces (Example1, 2, 3, 4). Section10.8 Find the arc length; nd the curvature.(Formulas will be given during the test). Section10.9 Given the position vector r(t) of a particle, nd its velocity and acceleration; given the acceleration vector a(t) nd the velocity and position vectors; Newton's Second Law of Motion; the problems of projectiles. Section11.1 Find and sketch the domain of a function with two variables. Section11.2 (a) Show that a limit does not exist. (b) Show that a limit exists by the Squeeze Theorem. (c) Find the limit of a continuous function, i.e. Section11.3 Find partial derivatives for a given function with two or more independent variables. Vector Space Several True/False problems on vector spaces and subspaces (refer to the excercises on the notes).
