Takamura, 2009 EMS 162: Structure and Characterization of Engineering Materials Term Paper Grading Scheme Due Date: Thursday, March 11 th , 2010 5% - Benchmark 1: Term Paper Title 5% - Benchmark 2: Term Paper Outline 5% - Organization of the paper - Use of subject headings: Abstract, Background/Intro/Summary, etc… 12% - Readability - The flow of the paper - Ease of reading/comprehending the document 13% - Formatting of the paper - Consistent and proper formatting (Captions for all figures and tables, no tables split between two pages, etc…) - Punctuation - Grammar - Lack of typographical errors 50% - Content - Adherence to theme of structure and/or characterization technique - Superficial discussion is not sufficient, content should go beyond classroom discussion and include technical details - I want to see that you learned something - No plagiarism – paraphrase from your sources, or use quotations
