Importance of Medication 1 Importance of Medication for Children Diagnosed with ADHD Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is estimated in 5 million U.S. children. It is a common psychological disorder that is most predominant in children. This disorder exemplifies behavioral and learning disorders that affect a child’s ability to focus, sit still, and follow instructions. The following paper will evaluate the significance of medication given to children with ADHD. Children diagnosed with ADHD should be given medication to manage their symptoms, which counteract with their everyday activities, education and social life. Most causes of ADHD include brain injury, genetics, premature delivery and low birth weight. Children with ADHD display signs of simple distraction, forgetfulness, and disruption. Symptoms of ADHD may include excessive inattentive, hyperactive, and Impulsive behaviors
