Water Resource Plan 2 Water Resource Plan Introduction The water resource problem in the video is a simple one, commercial fishermen are over fishing. Over fishing is a problem because it does not allow the fish that are being caught the chance to re-spawn. Many fishermen catch between 200 and 300 pounds per day. Management Plan A good management plan to put into action to ensure that both commercial and sport fishermen do not over fish would be to set a daily limit in the number of fish they are able to catch and set a time of year when they can fish for certain types of fish. For instance, I do know that sport fishermen cannot fish for Bass from Labor Day weekend to Memorial Day weekend. In normal weather conditions here in Michigan doing this allows the Bass to re-spawn each year. If limits were set like that for each type of fish caught by both commercial and sport fishermen this would enable them to re-spawn each year to keep the population on a high side each year. Putting a management plan like this into play would benefit both sides because it keeps the
