( 10 pts: roughly divided 1 for the goal and 3 each for addressing each of the three parts of the experiment. ) Purpose: The purpose of this lab is quite straightforward. First I have to prepare a series of solutions from one stock solution (ferroin). Second, I must use the series of solutions to create a calibration curve to help find the concentration of the unknown solution. Method: This lab is divided into 3 parts—preparing standard solution, preparation of Iron sample and determining Iron in an Iron tablet. Part I: In this part, I will first obtain 5 mL of 6.25 x 10^-4 M ferroin stock solution and dilute it in a volumetric flask with deionized water. I am diluting this stock solution to the following stock solutions: 2.5 x 10^-5 M, 3.75 x 10^-5 M, 5 x 10^-5 M and 6.25 x 10^-5 M. I have already calculated the mL of 6.25 x 10^-4 M ferroin solution in the pre-lab using M1V1 = M2V2 equation. Part II: In this part, the goal is to dilute the tablet/powder of Iron in order to calculate the actual amount of Iron in the tablet. To do this, I will weigh and transfer 100 mg of water and allow it to heat. After the heating process is completed transfer 1 ml to a volumetric flask and add hydroxylamine hydrochloride, sodium acetate and phenantholine, water and set it aside for part III. Part III:
