New York: McGraw Hill. Course Overview We will explore various aspects of human physiology pertinent to aviation and aerospace operations. The focus of the course will be the understanding of these physiological factors and the mitigation of their adverse consequences to improve safety and performance in the aerospace environment. Course Requirements and Grading The course will be conducted in lecture and class discussion format. Please come to class each week with the assigned reading accomplished and ready to discuss. Grading will be based on class attendance, tests, homework, class presentation and a paper. If you have a valid need to miss class you need to coordinate with the instructor prior to your absence. You are allowed two unexcused absences prior to points being deducted. There will be two major tests, some smaller in-class quizzes and a final exam. Each student will give a presentation on an aviation related mishap. Further information on paper and presentation requirements will be handed out at a later date.
