Chapter 43 - Problem SolutionFrom the old times, it has been common that employees are subjects of different kinds of discriminations. Most of the times it arises only because the employer believes he has the right to divide people and their working abilities, based on certain factors in their life (gender, skin color, etc). The US have a very good law which has the duty to protect the employees and secure their interests as well as their rights. The case we have been given for our problem solution is a clear case of discrimination. The term discrimination can be understood as a sociological term referring to the treatment taken toward or against a person of a certain group in consideration based solely on class or category.1In this case, Johnson, the president of The First National Bank, is only employing women as tellers, and when Ken Baker applied for this position, he was rejected, and was offered a different position in the bank with the same salary.
