In Defense of Biodiversity: Why Protecting Species from Extinction Matters After reading the article answer the following questions 1. Pyron is quoted as saying” Humans are profoundly altering the planet, so let’s just make peace with the degradation of the natural world.” In retrospect he is saying let’s continue as “business and usually” Should we try to save and repair biodiversity or should we take the approach of Pyron and live with what we have? I believe we should continue trying to save and repair biodiversity. The main reason is biodiversity can boost our ecosystem productivity. As Pyron approaches with living with what we have it would be more beneficial to continue adding longevity to each species on earth no matter how small they are. Each plays in important role in each other’s lives and protecting them ensures sustainability. 2. Is biodiversity more about us than about saving what’s at stake if we don’t?
