Christopher McBorrough 02/20/2008 Engl 100 THE 0-12 RECORD I had just moved from the soccer oriented country of Ivory Coast, better known as Cote D’Ivoire. Everyday I would leave the house and practice soccer to become better. I would skip breakfast sometimes as soon as I saw a soccer ball. There was not a day where I did not play the sport. I would always come home injured or fatigued from playing, but I would still go out and play again. Soccer was my life. It was everything to me, as though I was married to it. What really ticked my parents off was playing that “darn sport in the house”, my mom would say. I played on several different teams, including “La Bote,” I.E and Biro, some of the best youth soccer teams in the country. We would win almost all of our games, sometimes even going through the whole season undefeated. I was cocky, being on this team and winning all of our games. I felt invincible; “no one can touch Chris’ skills” I would say to myself. Soccer was my life; it was everything to me, until I moved to America. Playing with the most untalented,
