Christopher McBorrough 02/20/2008 Engl 100 THE 0-12 RECORD I had just moved from the soccer oriented country of Ivory Coast or better known as Cote D’Ivoire. Everyday I would leave the house and practice soccer to become better. I would skip breakfast sometimes as soon as I see a soccer ball. There was not a day where I did not play the sport. I would always come home injured or fatigued from playing, but I would still go out and play again. Soccer was my life. It was everything to me, as though I was married to it. What really ticked my parents off was I would play that “darn sport in the house”, my mom would say. I got in trouble for playing soccer almost constantly by my parents, but they were also proud that I was working towards a dream. I played on several different teams, “La Bote”, I.E and Biro, which were some of the best youth soccer teams in the country. We would win almost all of our games, sometimes even going through the whole season undefeated. I was cocky, being on this team and winning all of our games. This made me feel like I could not be stopped, like I was
