Included with each section or problem are reference examples and end of section exercises that  can be used as a guide Section 1.1: Identify the sample and population (References: example 1 page 5, end of section exercises 21 – 28 page 9) Each situation in 1a and 1b will have a sample AND population. 1.  a. A group of 50,000 randomly selected college students were surveyed about whether  they have a TV in their dorm room. Only 75% said yes to the question. i. Sample (2.5 points) 50,000 randomly selected college students, who were asked about  have a television in their dorm room. ii. Population (2.5 points) the population consists of all college students. b. An employee at the local ice cream emporium asks 3 customers if they liked cookie  dough ice cream. i. Sample (2.5 points) the 3 Customer, who were asked if they like cookie dough ice  cream. ii. Population (2.5 points) All customer at the local ice cream emporium Identify descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. (References: example 3 page 7)
