Traditional Genres are retained but the elements within are transformed creating  new kind of melody, harmony, rhythm and tone color In art we have the invention of cubism and the works of Picasso. In music we  have his counterpart, Stravinsky. We also have artist such as Kadinsky and  Expressionist Art, which can find its musical Counterpart in Schoenberg.
