Traditional wired interconnection technology is band limited, therefore to meet the future demand of data rate we are reporting a new Ultra Wide Band (UWB) Monocycle Pulse (MCP) which can be used as transmitting pulse in a single chip implementation of an UWB transceiver for intra and inter chip communication in future ULSI. The MCP power level is 2.7mW at 1.8 V for an antenna input impedance of 50 Ω . Here DSSS is used only for multiple access. The proposed transceiver is based on double threshold level detector at receiver end and thus precise phase synchronization is not required. Transmission and reception of the proposed DSSS UWB transceiver for multi users’ application has been confirmed by simulation and results are presented here. I. INTRODUCTION Ultra wide band (UWB) communication systems use signal with bandwidth that is larger than 20 % of centre frequency or wider than 500 MHz [1] and extremely low power spectral density. In recent years this system has got special attention for short distance communication such as interface in digital consumer products, sensor networks and wireless intra and inter chip interconnection in future ULSI [2, 3]. Conventional UWB system use Gaussian monocycle pulse (GMP) which has no dc component. GMP shape is changed due to the differentiation effect of antenna [4]. As a result the received signal will be second derivative of the GMP. Thus the receiver needs the
