Little Jimmy lived with his grandfather, in a log house, in a small town called Clear Lake located in South Dakota. Jimmy was 10 years old and he would spend most of his time reading books about dinosaurs, that his grandpa had bought for him on his eighth birthday. There was a particular one that fascinated him, it was about a Tyrannosaurus Rex that lived in a coastal lowland, near South Dakota. In this book Jimmy learned that Tyrannosaurus walked on two long legs, that made them faster than most of their prey, he also learned that they had sharp, curved, serrated teeth. Somehow little Jimmy knew that the book was wrong, he knew that Tyrannosaurus did not killed other dinosaurs for food, unlike the book that said that Tyrannosaurs may have been scavengers , predators or both. [One morning, that was as hot as the Sun's core], Jimmy went out for a walk to a park that was near his house. As he was strolling thru a little path that was surrounded by ferns, cycads, palms, and many shrubs, he heard a little [tap, tap], and as he got closer he

Unformatted text preview: heard a crack. To his surprise he found a enormous egg that was hatching, a baby Tyrannosaurus Rex came out of the egg. The [majestic monster murmured] Jimmy's name and Jimmy was petrified instantly. Jimmy asked Terry, which was the Tyrannosaurus name, how he knew his name and Terry answered him back by saying that he was sent to keep him company. Jimmy always wanted to have a pet, but he never thought that he would get a dinosaur. He took Terry straight home to show his grandpa. When his grandpa saw him he couldn't believe it, he almost fainted. When his grandpa was better he told Jimmy that Terry could stay, only with one condition, he could not come into the house. After that day Jimmy came to the realization that Terry the Talking Tyrannosaurus was not a fierce predator, but he was a sweet vegetarian that did not grow more than a ostrich. Jimmy lived the rest of his life happy because he had a best friend that would be with him forever. +...
