McCarthyism CheckPoint McCarthyism definitely had an affect on the people and politics of the United States. Despite the fact that the people of America were not exactly suffering in the U.S. during the war, does not change the fact that they did want victory and as soon as possible. Because of this fact, I believe McCarthyism to have become so accepted so quickly.
