Evaluation : Grading Scale : D EFINITION EXTRA   CREDIT (1) a means to artificially increase an academic average to assuage  someone’s stressed psyche, (2) a means to circumvent the educational  process and mask true academic performance Tests…………………50% 90—100 A Assignments………. .20% 80—89 B Quizzes. ..…………. ...10% 70—79 C Final Exam………….20% 67—69 66 To study mathematical functions including the definition of a function, range and domain, the algebra of functions, transformations, inverse functions,  graphing techniques and applications of  linear, quadratic, polynomial, rational, exponential and logarithmic functions and their applications, systems of  equations, matrices, sequences and arithmetic and geometric series. Tests All tests are  closed book  and  closed notes.  Tests consist of both  free-response  and  multiple-choice  problems. The  lowest  non-zero  test grade  may be replaced with the final exam  grade if it is higher. Tests typically have two parts: One part without a calculator and a  Quick Quizzes All quizzes are  closed book  and  closed notes . make-up quizzes. Quick Quizzes consist of 3-5 basic problems during the first 10-12  minutes of class. Your highest quiz score can replace your lowest. Final exam is  comprehensive  and only multiple-choice. You will also need the “green” Scantron, Form 882 ASSIGNMENTS SUNDRY INFORMATION Online Assignments Due dates are indicated on-line and the class schedule.
