Unformatted text preview: Various substances were added to either the solut ion in the bore of the pipette (outer solut ion) or to the solution in the buffered well (inner so lution). The solut ion in the well (inner solut ion) was then assayed for cyclic AMP. This system was used to conduct several experiments numbered in the Table below. The outcome of experiments 13 is included in the Table. Please complete the rest of Column 4 of the Table by writing Yes or No beside each of the other experiments. Beside each “Yes” answer, please circle the appropriate term in co lumn 5, indicat ing whether the amount of cyclic AMP produced will be higher, the same, or lower than the amount of cyclic AMP produced in experiment 2. 1 EXPERI MENT 2 ADDITION TO OUTER SOLUTION Adrenalin Adrenalin None Adrenalin None Adrenalin 3 ADDITION TO INNER SOLUTION None GTP GTP GTPgS GTPgS 4 5 CYCLIC AMOUNT CYCLIC AMP AMP RELATIVE TO EXPERIMENT 2 PRODUCED No Yes No Higher Higher Same Same Lower Lower #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 #6 GTP Cho lera toxin + NAD GTP Cho lera toxin mo Higher Higher Same Lower #7 De Adrenalin Same Lower ...
