Because we in America tend to take most things of luxury for granted, it came as a shock to me how some people still live. At the time I was used to everyone having televisions, air conditioning, and even bathrooms that are attached to the house. What I realized is how some people can live without these things and still live happy lives. Understanding what culture is what would help one understand how and why other people do things differently. Because we are used to our culture does not make those cultures we are not used to strange, they make them interesting.
