Deviant Behavior CheckPoint One basic example of a deviant behavior which is accepted by one culture and not another would be that of the tattoo and some of the body piercing culture. In some places such as Africa and Asia, tattoos are a sign of honor in some respects. This is because of what they have been taught and shown as a child. Yet, in our American society, this has only recently started to become somewhat accepted. Although, the societies which respect tattoos do this in different ways; because in the communities which do this in Africa proudly display their body at for all to see. Not to say that Asians are not proud of this yet, only that they are more discrete about their body modification. However, in American society these marks of the body have been seen as a deviant behavior. This is mostly due to the fact that the majority of those who

Along with the fact that all of the leader this country has had tend to follow a certain appearance and none since have strayed from that appearance also plays a large role. This is not the true case these days because the people who do it here now do this for the love of the art. Although, the idea of the general public has not changed much because of the idea that men in power follow a certain look so, if one is the opposite then they must act in an opposite manner which is not true. But, that is how this issue is seen and unfortunately it is seen in this manner in the legal system as well. As a result, those of marked bodies are seen differently legally....
