Chapter 2 Discuss the Case in Point: Adjusting the Budget , which can be found near the end of Chapter 2. Answer questions 1 - 3. Post your answers as a new thread. As long as you answer the questions, your answers can be relatively brief. Discuss current economic conditions: I know you have heard the term inflation. But do you know how it affects your personal finances? In short, inflation is when the cost of things goes up. (Alternately, deflation is when costs go down.) Inflation can affect items that you buy on a regular basis, such as food and gas, and can affect nearly every purchase that you make. When budgeting out into the future, you need to take into account the fact that prices may go up if inflation is anticipated. In the next five years, do you anticipate inflation or deflation? Briefly, why? How do you think this will impact personal budgeting? Case in Point 1.
