1.0 INTRODUCTION As we embark on the new millennium, more companies are acknowledging the  significance of managing their human resources as effectively as possible. They are  also recognizing that doing so cannot be done without recognition and fusion of the  worldwide circumstances. It is basically impossible to read a newspaper anywhere in  the world without seeing stories describing the success of a company due to how  effectively it manages its people. As the environment becomes more global,  managing people also becomes more difficult and unpredictable. Due to the  importance of managing people effectively, many companies are committing more  time, attention, skill and effort to have a competitive edge. Researchers suggest that  the capability levels of HR managers in high performing companies are significantly  higher than those of HR managers in low performing companies.  Within the framework of the business, this report will discuss the recruitment and  selection process. 1.1 RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION The process of staff recruitment and selection is becoming highly complicated and  HR strategies means that the successful result of these processes is essential for job  performance and organizational success. The importance of the recruitment and  selection process is needed for organizational competitiveness and a failure to  approach this purpose effectively will have effects for future job performance. Jobs  change accordingly as organizations respond to economic and technological  pressures. In addition to the need for management to rate the effect of social,
