Page 1 Heart - fibrosis : is excess of the EC matrix these are ptn which are pushed all over the cell to stabilize the tissue - producing this ECM in several diseases and this can be understandable if you know what is happening under the molecular level - there is no cell without ER. Impo : the ER doesn’t only o produce secretary ptn like collagen in fibrosis process o they are also responsible like in the liver for detoxification o for secreting lipoprotein in the liver o they are the place for the steroid synthesis o in the m. it called SR : the storage of the Ca which trigger contraction in the m. o this SR should be very tightly regulated Page 2 Why Ca is impo to be controlled ???? The calcium phosphate is insoluble. So they get so tight to gather that they fall out from the aquase solution. the ER is the central organelles to control Ca in the cell - for the transporting within the ER you need a signaling sequence - the mRNA 5 3 end in this direction it pulled through ER
