Lloyd 1 S. Lloyd Professor Sutton LA 103 Spring, 2008 Readings Notes #1: . 2006 White, Edward. Excerpts from Site Analysis . 1983 Wow! I found Chapters one and five from the Landscape Architecture text to be compelling and provocative. To be honest, there was so much information contained in these two chapters that I could write tomes on each section. That being said, Chapter One was titled “The Human Habitat,” and that is exactly what the authors explored in their analysis. I enjoyed the sections about our ability to reason and our “unique powers of perception and deduction.” (2) I believe these are what differentiate humans from other animals, and that it is important to consider this when studying landscape architecture. Furthermore, I was provoked in Chapter One by the exploration of the human condition, or as some phrase it, the human dilemma. I am minoring in Regenerative Studies, so it was extremely relevant and interesting. I thought the authors of the text said it best in the
