Alex Fish Human Geography 3/9/2009 The Story of Islam: Part Two The Story of Islam is a video about the Muslim faith. The first half concentrated about the origins and history of the religion, and its prophet, Muhammad. The second half concentrates more on the practices and traits of Islam. In the beginning, Medina was the unofficial capital of Islam. Muhammad slowly caused the center of Islam to be moved from Medina to the modern day capital of Islam, Mecca. It is where all Muslims face during their five prayers a day. They pray five times a day, and they are: dawn, mid-day, afternoon, dusk, and evening. All Muslim’s must begin praying five times a day once they reach puberty. Most Muslims perform their prayer on a holy rug. In the Islamic faith, there are five pillars. These five pillars must be performed by every follower in the entire world. The first pillar is that every follower of Islam believe that there is only one god, Allah, and that Muhammad is his one and only prophet. The second pillar is to
