English 101 Literacy Narrative 1 Kennedy Figaretti I feel I can speak for a lot of the students in saying that most do not like to write long, drug out papers. Not only does it take up time, but some people are simply not good writers and do not have artistic minds. Also, there are so many rules with what to do and what not to do, not to mention a million grammar rules and punctuation marks. There is a lot to know and learn about writing a correct paper. Aside from the basic rules, the paper should always have some sort of flow or story line. No one wants to read an essay or paper that is scattered all over the place, jumping from one thought to another. Also, the same subject, verb, noun sentence structure. When you think about it, there is a great deal of information to take into consideration when trying to write a well-written paper. Writing a paper also takes a lot of practice. It is most likely that when someone begins writing papers they are not perfect at it and will need to make corrections; even if someone thinks they are considered a “good writer.” Of course, there is always room for improvement; however, I still think there are those that do not have the skill and then there are others who have a natural ability. For the “not so natural” writers, most learn several skills and tips in writing throughout the years, in hopes that it will become easier as time goes on. I would put myself in the category of someone who never looks forward to writing long papers. I do not feel that I am good at rambling on for pages and putting down every point needed. I am the type of writer that would rather get straight to the point and be done with it; on the other hand, I always seem to stick out the long process of writing and get the paper done.
