Brittany Lukas Communications 306 Student Id 700-777-079 Course Id # 57 The movie “Wall Street” was a film about a man named Bud Fox who is trying to make a big name for himself as a stockbroker in the 1980s. The main theme of the movie is money, power and what one will do to get both. Fox is willing to do anything to be noticed and succeed more than his father. To get ahead, Bud tries to get in touch with Gorden Gekko who is a big business man with a lot of power. Once Bud and Gorden start working together, Gorden takes Bud under his wing and tries to show him more about the business. Bud is willing to do anything to get to the top so he begins making poor decisions but it backfires on him and does not make him more money. Bud’s ethical decisions start out small and harmless but as the movie progresses they become more risky and illegal. In the beginning of the movie one of the ethical decisions made by Bud was when he went to Gordon and told him about the Blue Star stocks to buy. I considered it an ethical decision because it is inside trading which is illegal. There were some benefits from telling Gordon about the stock information, Gordon could make a lot of money and continue to use him as his stockbroker. Another
