Page 2 Environmental Policy Plan BUS207 GP New Paper Products vs. Recycled Paper Products The Environmental Benefits of using Recycled Paper It has been brought to the attention of the McDonald’s Corporation the paper products we currently are using are less than environmentally friendly. In an effort to promote environmental protection and continue the high standards which to be expected by our customers we will implement the following Environmental Policy Plan in all corporation restaurants and office locations. Basic policy statement: The EPA recommends using recycled paper products with a minimum of 30% postconsumer content ( "Paper products," 2007 ). We have decided in order to promote a more environmentally friendly atmosphere, we will now purchase recycled paper products of comparable quality and cost to the paper products we have purchased in the past. All McDonald’s Corporation locations will comply with EPA recommendations for all purchases of paper products. Justification for this environmental policy: Recycled paper products can be purchased for comparable prices to regular paper products and have less negative impact on the environment. According to the EPA 33% of the materials used to produce most paper products comes from recycled paper. This means fewer trees are cut down to produce paper. Greenhouse
