Margaret Rah Flow Chart #19 34135084 1. Mark 3 small beakers 1, 2, and 3. 2. Fill buret with 0.100M cadmium nitrate solution. 3. To beaker 1 add 200 mL of distilled water and 25 mL of Cd(NO 3 ) 2 solution. 4. To beakers 2 and 3 add 10 mL of Cd(NO 3 ) 2 solution from the buret. 5. Clean buret and fill with .100M Sodium oxalate and add 25 mL of this solution to beaker 1, and 10 mL to beakers 2 and 3. 6. Stir mixtures for at least 10 minutes to allow the particle size to grow and allow the precipitates to settle. 7. For part B; Using either gravity filtration or suction filtration filter the mixture in beaker 1. 8. Clean your buret and rinse with few millimeters of the filtrate. 9. Using your buret measure 100 mL of filtrate into two Erlenmeyer flasks. Then add 20 mL of 3M sulfuric acid solution to each flask.

Unformatted text preview: 10. Clean, rinse and fill buret with .01M potassium permanganate solution. Record the molarity shown on the bottle. 11. Heat one 100-mL portion of the filtrate to 55degrees Celcius-60 and titrate the hot solution with the KmnO4 solutions. 12. Repeat the titration with the second 100 Ml portion of CdC2O4 solution and record data. 13. For part C; Clean, rinse and fill buret with approx 5M aqueous ammonia, record molarity shown on bottle. 14. Titrate mixture in beaker 2. 15. In order to determine this endpoint easily, put a dark cross on a piece of white paper that is placed under the beaker of mixture you are titrating. When all solid is gone you will be able to see the cross clearly. Record titration data. 16. Repeat titration of the mixture in beaker 3, Record....
