4/29/2010 Personality Profile of Serial Killers Serial killer- person who attacks and kills victims one by one in a series of incidents usually killing more than 3 people on different occasions within 14 days Although that are many different types of serial killers Each have their own agenda and reasons for killing However, some serial killers kill with no apparent motive Who do they kill? Most often strangers… but occasional people of some acquaintance Heterosexual serial killers tend to prey on women and children Homosexual serial killers focus on gay men, prostitutes and hitchhikers Common traits among all serial killers Typical danger signs as children Bed wetting Setting fires Abusing animals As they grow older Desire to be alone Inability to do well in school or hold a job Family problems at home Often victims of sexual or physical abuse Domineering parent All predictors of possible future acts of aggression Types of serial killers Visionary serial killers Person hears voices that instruct them to kill Usually suffering from psychosis or schizophrenia David Berkowitz- Son of Sam serial killer Missionary serial killer Person believe that they have some mission or responsibility to rid the
