Discussion 3 Eng220 When I read this week’s discussion prompt the first case of business plagiarism that came to mind involved the 1989 song, Ice Ice Baby. I recall vividly the uproar at the time that Rob Van Winkle, known professionally as Vanilla Ice had ripped off the Queen and David Bowie song Under Pressure. To the untrained ear you could distinctly hear the commonalities to the music, according to Jason Runtagh of Rolling Stone, “to anyone with functional eardrums, it's clear that Vanilla Ice's pop-rap crossover hit sampled the bass line to the 1981 Queen/Bowie collaboration "Under Pressure" (Runtagh, 2016).
