Paden Allen CHEM 107-513 09 September 2008 Chemistry 107 Summary The purpose of this lab was to better understand gas laws. In order to observe the law in action, we observed changes in pressure as we changed the temperature of the container in addition to observing changes in pressure when volume was changed. The goal was to determine the relationship between pressure and temperature and pressure and volume and understand their relationships in order to best understand the gas laws. Experimental Data See Attached Graphs Results Part A 1.) Thee relationship between pressure and volume is inverse as the resulting graph shows a curved descending graph whereas a direct relationship would result in a linear form. 2.) Seeing how the graph jumps 50kPa between 5 & 10 mL and then only 25 kPa between 10 and 15mL, I would expect the pressure at 60 mL to be not much less than 50mL as the function appears to be hitting a low point. 3.) I would expect the pressure to be around 3000 kPa or more due to the climb in the graph
