Paden Allen Student ID: 117006302 ECEN 214 Lab Report #1: Introduction to ECEN 214 Lab Introduction The purpose of this lab was to further understand the equipment that would be used in future experiments. First, we learned how to read the color bands on resistors so that we can use them effectively in experimental set ups. Next, we learned how to use a breadboard through measuring the resistance of 3 different resistors in parallel. This was done while learning to use the NI ELVIS DMM and then the HP DMM. Afterwards, we measured the voltage of a 9V battery with both the NI ELVIS DMM and HP DMM in parallel. Following this, we learned to use the oscilloscope and function generator by generating a 3kHz function at 5V and reading the results on the oscilloscope, as seen in Figure #1 (See Attached). Then, we changed the voltage to 2V to note the difference in the oscilloscope and again captured the image (See Figure #2 Attached). Next, we displayed the measurements of frequency and amplitude with the graph on the oscilloscope and captured Figure #3 (See Attached). The next step
