Her lover 1. runs off with another man a. she committed adultery i. then the man she ran off with dumps/abandons her ii. she doesn’t dare go back into her home 1. finds Daoist temple that allows her to be a guest there 2. word reaches the husband iv. The neighbor Kao 1. also at the temple at the same time 2. doesn’t get along with Jen a. Jen insults Kao b. Kao smacks Jen in the face i. Jen now has real grudge against Kao v. temple sends woman back to Jen 1. Jen takes her back in 2. several weeks pass 3. neighbors hear the couple brawling a. Wang sews coat, goes to sleep b. Jen climbs on top of her bed and strangles her c. Wants to drag body to front of Kao’s place i. Plans to claim that Kao killed her d. however, it’s snowing i. Jen drops body in front of tree and leaves 1. scared of watchmen and watchdogs 2. Jen claims that wife walked out during night to Kao’s and that Kao’s
