EMPLOYMENT ISSUES2Employment Issues IntroductionColossal Corporation is responsible for maintaining a subsidiary located in Serafini, a small European country. New Brand Design, Inc. (NBD) is the parent company located in Delaware and is known for its designs and manufacturing of innovative electronic products that they distribute for resale worldwide. NBD has recently received the go-ahead to conduct business in Serafini. The NBD executive board is composed of 10 members, some from the United States, some from Serafini, and one individual from Italy. The board has the job of managing over 100 Serafini national employees. Two Serafini board members, Elena and Viktor, have realized their salaries and benefits packages are smaller than other board members and havefiled a complaint with Max, the Director of Human Resources at NBD (Employment Issues-Hiring and Firing, 2020).Max has been working with officials in the United States to fix the issues that are taking place in Serafini. One solution was to replace Elena and Viktor with Michael and Beth. Michaelis 66 years old with vast corporate experience and is highly qualified for the job. Still, he is over Serafini's working-age limit of 65 and cannot receive a work visa for the country. Beth is also very knowledgeable at her job and has 15 years of experience in management. According to Serafini, Beth's work permit cannot be issued because her application was incomplete, although Serafini is known for denying females when applying for management positions. Management has told Elena and Viktor that their salaries are lower because they are not as qualified as their other counterparts. Information surfaced that they are just as qualified as three of the United States executives. The case study also mentions that Elena and Victor have threatened to file a lawsuit against NBD (Employment Issues-Hiring and Firing, 2020).
