Unit Six 2 Unit Six: Application 14.2: Stress and the Salesperson Stress is caused by many things. Seven of them alone are from within the workforce. Andrea is a salesperson and is worried of the situations that are happening in the oil market. She is suffering from emotional distress. Since the oil crisis seems to be a critical issue that will have adverse effects on business, she is worried about going another area and starting over. Due to the fact that Andrea wants to shut down, stop working, and not give her best during these changes, Andrea is having an active behavioral reaction to the work distress that she is encountering (Drafke M, 2006). The two major causes of her distress are the president 's decision and its effect on oil and the manager 's control that leaves her with no say (Drafke M, 2006). The oil crisis will make life hard and she hates using schedules that she is not willing to adjust to. She
