ASSIGNMENT: HEALTH PROMOTION PROGRAM 2 Assignment: Health Promotion Program Four Goals for Clark Elementary After School Fitness Program. 1. Participants will adopt a regular Exercise program at least five days a week. 2. Participants will indentify and learn at least three reasons why exercise and eating right are important to his or her body long-term and short-term 3. Participants will be required to attend ninety percent of all meetings. 4. Participants’ parents will be educated on proper exercise and preparing healthy meals for his or her children. The Clark Elementary After-School Fitness Program is an after-school program to teach children First Grade through sixth grade about proper nutrient and exercise. Additionally the children will bring homework books home so the parents of the children enrolled learns how to cook healthy meals and how to exercise the correct way. This is open to all children in the community. The program has a sliding scale for membership depending on a parents income. The program serves all levels of socioeconomic populations. In the Sacramento county area there is a diverse population.” There are twenty-six-percent of the population under eighteen-years- old. Sixty-nine percent of the population is of white decent. Ten-point-five percent is African American. One-point-three percent is American Indian and Alaska Native decent. Thirteen- point-four percent are of Asian Decent. Twenty-point-two percent are of Hispanic or Latino origin. Fifty-one-point-nine percent of the Sacramento population are White persons of not Hispanic decent” (United States Census Bureau, 2010). The neighborhood surrounding the program are mixed with low-income, middle-class, and higher-income population. Due to the foreclosure of homes at a high rate families are living on lower income than previously experienced. Some families are homeless because of losing their home. Children are now eating

Clark Elementary After-School Fitness Programs will increase health awareness and exercise for participants and his or her families.
