The process of digestion is a mulit step process which requires ingestion, digestion, movement,  absorption and elimination. -Ingestion is our diet, it consist of the food we put in our mouths. During this process our teeth  chew the food, the tongues tastes and push the food for chewing and swallowing. -Digestion is broken down into two different forms chemical or mechanical.  The mechanical  form consist of large pieces of food that are broken down into smaller pieces which can interact  with the digestive enzymes this process occurs primary in the mouth or stomach.  Chemical  form is when digestive enzymes hydrolyze your foods macromolecules into absorbable  subunits.  This process starts in the mouth moves to the stomach and is completed in the small  intestine.  I believe this is one of the most important because it relates to the characteristics of
