Timber – (pronounce tamber) is basically the texture or color of the note. Indigineous- In the Andies it is similar to Native Americans. Do not think of it as a racial category but more like a cultural category. As such you can become indigenous or not based on how you live you life. Meztizos- Criollo- The indigenous people often speak aymara and quechwa. Lots of people would own land communally. They really emphasize the community and the communal bonds. Ayllu – an indigenous community. You can get membership not by living in the town but participating in the community such as musical groups. Egalatarism- it doesn’t mean that everyoine is equal but that the community is not hierarchal. No one can force someone else to do something else. Everything has to be done through consensus. The people in charge of the community are always a married couple. But they are not truly in charge as they just do what the consensus wants. Musical ensembles as well as meetings occur in cercles. They avoid eye contact and do not face the
